Spy-fidelica, sleaze, fumetto Nera and other assorted movie genres are musically revisited here on this wonderful & tasty “Ooh Wah Wah!” a crazy instrumental album by Reverend’s Revenge.  Hailing from Germany the band is purely a side project from the masterminds of Mardi Gras.bb (Reverend Krug & Doc Wenz) plus a handful of other artists like Steven Gaeta (Universal Congress Of, Kool Ade Acid Test), Maria Timm Wachmann (choral singer of the Danish pop icons, “the Broken Beats”) and a complete posse of horn players!

Musically these guys will be put in the same bin as any other surf outfit but believe they are so different!  Tunes are interchangeable for sure, but it’s not the tunes or the songs that matter here! It’s the complete atmosphere that comes from this album. Part covers, part original tunes this is music you to hear and enjoy. Elegant, witty but above all very enjoyable! Excellent stuff for a neat cocktail party!

Reverend’s Revenge bring such master pieces like Henry Mancini’s “Baby Elephant Walk”, “Theme from the Munsters”, “The Catweazle” or The Shadow’s “Apache”.  All of them in superb renditions that only The Reverend & his gang can provide! But also the self-penned tunes are excellent manifestations of sixties movie madness. “Zen Dolphin”, “Rat Happy” and “Herb Albert” are quite something if you ask me! However it’s “Tennessee” that spans the crown with an erotic voice track combined with a sleazy Afro-beat and some jazzy horn interpretations!  Add to that some spaghetti western styled tunes like the Archie & El Pachuco and the album is complete.

No party shall be the same anymore! Cocktails will taste differently, Dj’s who doesn’t know these tunes will suffer from evening long embarrassment and chicks will look dull, until you come an in plug in the sound of Ooh Wah Wah! Be a star, take revenge on those sports, play Reverend’s Revenge!
